Green and sustainable practices at STEP Global Congress 2022

We are committed to doing our best to be more sustainable and green and working closely together with all our contractors and suppliers to achieve this.

Venue
Hilton London Metropole – we have chosen a responsible venue committed to sustainability.

Carbon footprint
Hilton, in partnership with South Pole, help achieve a carbon neutral event by investing in high quality carbon reduction projects that are aligned with the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals. Learn more about Hilton’s mission to cut their environmental footprint here

Conference materials
We have selected eco-friendly material for our badges, lanyards, delegate bags and stationary. All products are recyclable and no plastic wallets are being used for delegate badges.

Food and beverage
We are dedicated to reducing the use of plastic and single use packaging. We control the catering orders to avoid any food waste and caterers are committed to using local and sustainably sourced ingredients. Hilton works with local producers to build a menu where 90% of the ingredients are sourced within 100 miles of the hotel.

Waste management
Any food waste is sorted for composting purposes and Hilton runs a strict recycling program.

Printed materials
We are working towards a paperless conference. An expanded app has been developed to replace any lengthier printed material. Digital signage is used to its maximum potential.

Social events
Our evening events will take place within walking distance from the Hilton London Metropole. We have selected a dinner venue – The Landmark Hotel – dedicated to fostering sustainable development. The catering company for the welcome reception offsets the carbon generated by supporting projects through Terra Neutra’s Eco Act.
