David Lewis is a managing director and global head of AML Advisory in the Forensic Investigations and Intelligence practice at Kroll.
From 2015 to 2021 he was the Executive Secretary of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and G20 Deputy. David was previously Co-Chair of the Evaluation and Compliance Group of the FATF, head of the Illicit Finance Unit and AML/CFT Policy at HM Treasury, and a senior member of the Serious Organised Crime Agency, now UK National Crime Agency.
David is a Senior Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge, an Honorary Lecturer at Cardiff University, a member of the board for the global non-profit organisation Lawyers Without Borders, an advisor to the board and chair of the model oversight committee for Elucidate GmbH, a member of the Technical Advisory Group for the Global NPO Coalition, a member of the Effectiveness Working Group of the Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime, and an occasional columnist for AML Intelligence.

He studied at the University of Portsmouth and Cranfield University and lives in Paris, France.
